A scant two weeks two weeks after her last concert in the Caribbean ended in controversy, Amy Winehouse has again prompted questions about the state of her health – by pulling out of a homecoming gig in London.
Winehouse, 25, was set to perform at the celebration of a 50th birthday of her record label Island on Sunday, May 31. But Island issued a statement Friday saying that she will not now be taking to the stage.
The reversal comes after a performance in her adopted home of St. Lucia ended prematurely, which her reps blamed on lighting failures and other technical mishaps in the stormy Caribbean weather. But there were also reports of forgotten lyrics and reputed booing by the audience.
In its statement Friday, Island said, "Amy Winehouse's management has regretfully announced that Amy and her band will no longer be performing at the Shepherd's Bush Empire. Amy would like to apologize to her fans who bought tickets for the shows." Full ticket refunds will be made.
A statement from the singer's rep on Friday cited health problems for the cancellation. "She was complaining of chest pains, so the doctor advised her to come in and she was kept in the observation and then released," it said.

Sounds like New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has managed to fire one into the end zone once again.
Radar Online reports that Brady's wife, Victoria's Secret model Gisele Bundchen, is pregnant with the couple's first child (and Brady's second).
According to the report, Bundchen has been telling her close friends that she's expecting a baby.
Brady and Bundchen tied the knot in Santa Monica, California in February (and again in Costa Rica in April). And the sexy, Brazilian-born clotheshorse appears ready to tackle the role of motherhood—she's been known to act in an almost maternal manner with Brady's first child, John Edward Thomas Moynahan—Brady's son with his ex-girlfriend, Bridget Moynahan.

The British actor Lucy Gordon, who appeared in Spider-Man 3, has been found dead in her Paris flat after apparently killing herself.
She was found at the 10th arrondissement apartment yesterday, two days before her 29th birthday. Police said an autopsy had been ordered to determine the cause of death, adding that it appeared to be a suicide.
The Oxford-born actor appeared in a dozen films and played reporter Jennifer Dugan in the third instalment of Spider-Man. She made her debut in 2001 in Perfume, which follows a group of characters at a New York modelling show. In 2002 she starred in historical drama The Four Feathers with Heath Ledger.
Gordon most recently played the British singer and actor Jane Birkin in the upcoming biopic Serge Gainsbourg (A Heroic Life). The film is due for release early next year and trailers were shown this week at the Cannes film festival.

Lindsay Lohan is planning to marry on/off girlfriend Samantha Ronson, it has been claimed.
American tabloid the National Enquirer reports that Mean Girls star Lohan — who split from Ronson in March after a bust-up at a Hollywood hotel — will convert to Judaism so she can please the club deejay’s Jewish family and make her relationship with Sam official.
“Lindsay says Sam’s promised she’ll persuade her family to accept this, and they won’t wait to see if California changes their gay marriage legislation, but will travel to one of the states where it is legal to say their I do’s,” an insider said.
California’s Prop 8, the ballot proposition outlawing same-sex marriage, was passed in November last year — just weeks after the practice was allowed in the state.
